Incarnate Catfish to Mazda MX-5


Home modifications Bauer Limited Production of the United States introduced their first work named Catfish. This car is designed by the designer and modifier Ron Hemphill and Tony Woodford.

The design of this car is similar to catfish body with tapered head and flat. Both modifiers overhauled ranging from exterior and interior. "Catfish is a new product because it no longer uses the original Miata, in our opinion is not needed," said Bauer.

Amended sections includes the hood, trunk, doors, bumpers, roof, frame convertible, sokbreker, per, headlights and the entire interior of the car. In fact, the original unibody chassis structure converted into Dakar rally car style.

The main concept of this car, creating a solid and lightweight body. However, Bauer still maintaining control of the car a firm and agile. Due to modifications made ​​in total, the weight of Catfish is now just 680 kg or 317 kg lighter than the MX-5.

Using the MX-5 engine that is a 1.6-liter, Catfish claimed to be able to sprint faster because the energy ratio and smaller weights.

Catfish design was first drawn by Greg Tada, a graduate student Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, currently working as a designer at American Suzuki. Tada admitted, inspired catfish and make it happen on the car.

"From the front she looked like Aston Martin or Jaguar, but from behind like Triumph. All of that is the identity of Catfish," said Bauer.
